Support needed

HuriSearch needs maintenance and further development to continue servicing the human rights movement efficiently. This requires financial support. The search technology is provided by FAST. However, HuriSearch requires funds to cover the following activities and costs:

  • Development: translating the search interface into other languages (priorities: French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Chinese), researching for new websites to be added and monitoring of websites currently indexed, developing further the search options (adding Dublin Core meta data for example).
  • Outreach: promotion to various user groups (staff of human rights organisations, journalists, government and diplomatic officials, academics and students, private sector businesses and corporations), support to users, communication with webmasters of indexed sites.
  • System and hardware: system and hardware purchase, server upgrades and additional licenses, hosting and development costs

The approximate annual operating funding required is 165’000 USD.

Advertisements

You may also support HuriSearch by buying advertising. We welcome advertising for human rights-related materials (books, CDs, journals, other items), events, or training activities. HURIDOCS will charge a modest fee for this service. More information can be found at our advertisement page.
